How I Can Help You
Car and Truck Wrecks
If you have been injured in a wreck with a car or a tractor-trailer I can help you get what you deserve. It is not fun dealing with insurance companies, and medical bills can add up quickly. Having a lawyer lets you focus on your recovery and getting your life back on track. I can shoulder that burden for you and help you through this tough time. Whether the other party is in their personal vehicle or it is a commercial 18-Wheeler, I can get you the help you need. I handle cases all across North Mississippi and the Mississippi Delta. Whether you are in Calhoun County or Washington County, I will show up for you.
Civil Rights
Our governmental bodies and institutions are made up of people. Sometimes those people do not follow the laws and policies of those bodies and institutions. When that happens I help you hold them accountable. Whether the police did not follow the law when interacting with you or you have been discriminated against, I can get you justice. Our rights are enshrined in the constitutions of our country and our state. They are sacred. If we as a society allow one person's rights to be trampled then none of those rights are guaranteed to any of us. As a Marine I swore to uphold the Constitution and as a lawyer it is my honor to work every day to make sure the Constitution stays inviolate. Let me fight for your rights and get you the justice you deserve.
Criminal Defense
Whether it is a DUI after leaving the square in Oxford, a fine and confiscated guns from the game warden, or a felony charge, I will fight to make sure your rights are protected. There are limits on what law enforcement can do. I am the one that makes sure those limits are honored. I treat every case the same no matter if it is in Justice Court, Municipal Court, or a Federal District Court with the full weight of the United States Attorney bearing down on you. Let me keep the wolves at bay.
THE MAN BEHIND THE PRACTICE
I am a lawyer who believes in plain talk and hard work.
After being born in the heart of the Mississippi Delta, Greenville, my parents moved to Jackson, which is where I grew up. I enlisted in the Marine Corps Reserves after graduating high school and went to the famed Parris Island for a few months. After being trained as an Infantry Rifleman and serving in that role for a few years, I was re-trained and finished my time in the reserves as a Combat Engineer.
During my enlistment I was promoted through the ranks to Sergeant and led Marines as a Non-commissioned Officer. During that same time I finished my Associates Degree at Holmes Community College in Ridgeland and moved to Oxford to finish my undergraduate degree at the University of Mississippi. I graduated with a degree in Marketing from Ole Miss in 2018.
A few years later I decided to follow in my grandfather's footsteps and go to law school. Having fallen in love with Oxford and Lafayette County there was no other choice for me than the University of Mississippi School of Law. During my tenure at law school I was able to learn from some of the best and gain exposure to many different areas of law and ways of thinking.
Starting with my 1L summer, I clerked for Marc Boutwell at The Law Office of Marc Boutwell in Oxford. Working for Marc during law school gave me the practical knowledge and experience that few other students received. I continue to work with Marc to help others and get people the justice that they deserve. I have been involved in construction disputes, federal §1983 cases, car wrecks, truck wrecks, family law, criminal defense, and much more.
I am admitted to practice in all courts in Mississippi to include the Northern and Southern Districts of Mississippi. I am also a member of the Mississippi Association for Justice.
